Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest

All kids Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to submit a poster centered around the theme “Keep Christ in Christmas”! This is a wonderful opportunity for children to be creative, to be involved in their faith, and to have fun while experiencing the true meaning of Christmas!

Deadline for all entries is Friday, January 9th. 
Poster entries can be dropped off at the following locations:

• Sacred Heart Church office

• Sacred Heart Church Gathering Space (Church vestibule)

• Sacred Heart School Office

Poster Contest Entry Form

Entrants compete in one of the grade groups: Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th, 7th and 8th. Kids younger Kindergarten are welcome to submit a poster, however, they won’t be judged and submitted for fun! 

Posters are judged on a 100-point scoring system to determine winners:

• Slogan – 30 points – How clearly is theme presented?
• Visuals – 30 points – How well do the visuals convey the message?
• Overall Impact – 40 points – How effective was the poster in capturing your attention and causing you to reflect on the topic?

All winning posters will be forwarded to the Knights of Columbus State of Iowa Council and Supreme (national) Council as applicable. 

Prizes will be awarded for first place winners in each grade group, such as Chick-Fil-A gift card or cash prizes in the amount of $25. Second place and third place prizes will be considered based upon the number of entrants. 

RULES:

1. Posters must reflect the theme of Keep Christ in Christmas.
2. Each poster should be the original work (including concept, layout, slogan and visual images) of a single person.
3. Posters can be 11 X 17 inches (legal size) or 8.5 X 11 (letter size). Posters should be no bigger than 11x17 inches in size (legal size).
4. If chalks, charcoal or pastels are used the poster must be laminated or covered in clear plastic. Posters may be in color or black and white.
5. Posters must be submitted with a completed Knights of Columbus Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest entry form (included above).  In addition, the name and grade of participant should be included on the back of poster in case the poster and entry form get separated.
6. Don’t forget to include the Council number on the entry form. The Sacred Heart Knights Council number is 9632.
7. All entries become the property of the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council and posters will not be returned in most cases.
